How I learn

May 25, 2007

I will work hard in your class, but I I want to learn. How I learn is by deep discussion of thoughts. But we when we discuss we start with one topic but are allowed to somewhat venture and create a new idea in the discossion. I learn with technology, in my last class we used technology constantly. I believe that we should use technology to aid learning. I als o learn by being given instructions but have them loose, so we can add our own ideas and create something new. I learn well when taught well.

Book Review/Recomendation

May 1, 2007

Fire Star

This book though very confusing, I would recomend to read. The author jumps around and the plot keeps flipping around, a lot through the five hundred pages. The book is about dragons and bears and witches and monks and a book being written in the story. The basic plot is about the dragons fighting extinction. The story has many settings but it’s mostly in the Arctic. The story has a Christian aspect about by having the explain God in a way. I won’t give away to much mostly becuase this book is very hard to explain.

Guy and Man Reactions

March 21, 2007

Situation: You get a failing grade and you have been studying for awhile for this.

Guy: Flips out, gets angry at teacher. Says she a bad teacher, calls her vulgar names. When someone tries to help him or calm him down he flips out more and gets even angrier. Ends up failing class because he never talks to teacher to take a retake.

Man: He says okay to himself, and thinks what can I do to fix this. He thinks it through, knowing that all the blame is on him, and talks to the teacher. He doesn’t give her excuses, he tells her that he would like to retake the test. Also,  if he doesn’t understand it he asks for her to tutor him. He ends up retaking and getting 100% and passes the class.

Situation: Somone who is called a “geek” walks by you and trips and falls. All of his stuff goes flying throughout the hall, you talking to your friends.

Guy: Laughs at him. Kicks his stuff around, gets his friends to take his stuff and run away. Either don’t give or give it back, still a guy.

Man: Asks if he is ok, him and  his friends ward off guys and pick up his stuff and give it to him. They don’t ask for compensation, they just walk away.

The School Tyrany

March 20, 2007

SCHOOL IS A TYRANY!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, i got that out.
Supposedly we have freedom but what about school? This is where we spend most of our waking time, but we have litle or no choice! We don't vote for anything, not even what food we get. I think there should be competition for our food, to make it better. We should learn what we want. Like how to build a computer, math classes should be used for real life math, such as engineering. We should have a Republic at our school. We know whats best for us! We should learn what will help us in the future! Like an apprentinceship after a certain point, so we can learn what we need for our future. The tyrany should be dissastblished like Englands tyrany over America. We need a cold revolution for this!

Common Sense Law

February 20, 2007

This is the era when common sense stopped being common. Supposedly 80% of all human knowledge has been gained in the last twenty years, but after i read this I think that we may have gained knowledge, but lost wisdom and sense, making the knowledge useless.

These are some funny instructions with a little extra.

On Sears hairdryer:
Do not use while sleeping.
(Gee, that’s the only time I have to work on my hair!)

On a bag of Fritos:
You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(The five finger discount!)

On a bar of Dial soap:
Directions: Use like regular soap.
(and that would be how?)

On some Swann frozen dinners:
Serving suggestion: Defrost.
(But it’s ‘just’ a suggestion!)

On Tesco’s Tiramisu dessert: (printed on bottom of the box)
Do not turn upside down.
(Too late! you lose!)

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
Product will be hot after heating.

On a Korean kitchen knife:
Warning: keep out of children.
(hmm…something must have gotten lost in the translation…)

On a string of Christmas lights:
For indoor or outdoor use only.
(As opposed to use in outer space.)

On a food processor:
Not to be used for the other use.
(Now I’m curious.)

On Sainsbury’s peanuts:
Warning: contains nuts.
(but no peas?)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
Instructions: open packet, eat nuts.
(somebody got paid big bucks to write this one…)

On a Swedish chainsaw:
Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands.
(Raise your hand if you’ve tried this…)

On a child’s Superman costume:
Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly.

(Are you sure? Let’s experiment!)

On packaging for a Rowenta iron:
Do not iron clothes on body.
(But wouldn’t that save more time?)(Whose body?)

On Boot’s Children’s cough medicine:
Do not drive car or operate machinery.
(We could do a lot to reduce the construction accidents if we just kept those 5 year olds off those fork lifts.)

On Nytol sleep aid:
Warning: may cause drowsiness.
(One would hope!)

As a country we need a Common sense law! A woman sued Mcdonalds because she didn’t know the coffee would be hot (wonder what the reaction would have been if it wasn’t hot…)and she burnt herself. I think that she should pay McDonalds and be put back into school until she understands that coffee is made hot. These dumb people who sue for things like this should be punished! And if not, we as a people have hit the peak of human knowledge. The law should state that if some one that does something against all common sense and go through with should be out back in school until they understand why. Although, it should only happen if it’s major, such as sueing because of hot coffee or a sharp knife, not because of going and trying a flip and hurting yourself. Please help common sense become common again!

High School Registration

February 6, 2007

Why do we care so much about it? Is it because it affects the rest of our lives and could lead to many different things? I’m not saying that it’s not important, but what does it change? Every decision affects you the rest of your life. just some more then others. Just think about if you decided not work on one problem on the C.S.A.P. because you didn’t feel like it but, because of that problem you got a proficient instead of advanced on your results. Then because of this you weren’t able to make it into the math class you wanted, and then instead of being advanced by the time you went to college, you were in basic math. The college you wanted to go to didn’t accept you because you weren’t advanced enough in math, all because of on “small” decision. This leaded you to a lifetime of working at Wal-mart. So why do we care about something like registration, if we could drop any class that we didn’t like and change. I believe it is because of peer, family, and personal pressure deciding our decision in one way or another.

Chapter Two

February 6, 2007

“Brother, do you see those mountains betwen the jungle and the river in a far distance.” Zen yelled to his brother a few yards behind him.

While looking at the magnifiscient scenory Zen was planning the future, and how he would truly change the world. Zen wanted more then to change the world, he wanted to own the world.

“Yes, why Zen?” Garruth yelled back with full trust in his older brother.
“That is where we are heading, between there lies the city of Brakefield, and after that is the centrisanct of the Raelism. There is where were headed to find our jobs to change the world.”

“Were going to the palace?”

“No, but close. We will stay in the Gwinsy village on the Northeast side of the Wall.”

“Ok, but how will we pay for the inn, we didn’t save any frophens.”

“Don’t worry younger brother, trust me, I will get us an inn.”

“Fine, but we will not lie, or cheat the innkeaper of his money.”

“Of course Garruth, I am no thief!”

How do you prove to your parents that learned something?

I will describe to them t

Chapter One

January 25, 2007

“Okay, class get in your seats! Today we will start off with a review of’” Said, Rethum Buechner. He thought of his parents who worked so hard to get him here to accomplish his dream of teaching a new generation. Also of the past of this nation which most disregard, because they think the past can’t change the future.

“Not again, Mr. Buechner! Everyone knows the history of the brothers Zen and Garruth!” Moaned Twila Callery, who thought of all the times she had heard this story and it never changed her.

“Fine, since Twila thinks she knows the history oh so well, she can teach us today! Well, Twila stand-up and come over here!” Said Rethum with his usual calm voice.

“Thats not what I wanted! But of this gets us out of another one of your lectures, I’ll do it. Remember last time when we had a lecture, and Fryso started drooling on the desk” laughed Twila

” Ya, and we poured water on him to wake him up. That was so funny!”

” Well, this time Mrs. Twila will give the lesson.”

Twila came up to the front of the classroom and started the mixture of legend, truth, and myth.

“OK, to start in the year 6 a mother gave birth to twins and before she passed away she named the elder Zen and the younger Garruth. Ineraf, their father, raised the sons the best he could. When they were sixteen, the departing age, he decided to give them their last gifts for their inheritance. First to Zen, as he was the elder, then second to Garruth. Zen went to his father and was given his gifts. Ineraf gave his son three things, first a fathers blessing. The words were sacred to Zen, and he kept them to himself for ages to come. Second, he was given the family sword with it’s sheath. Third, he was given a medallion with his true name engraved in it, along with his skill.

Now, Garruth was given his three gifts: a Fathers blessing, the family staff, and his medallion. Garruth was satisfied with what he got and made the best of what he is given, but Zen always thought the other side of grass was greener and wanted to more. Zen kept his greediness and jealousy to him self till the moment was right.

Three days after the gifts were given, as tradition, the brothers left their house to find their place in this world….
